The Counseling Ministry aims to disciple and train people in the context of the local church. Counseling is based upon scriptural principles rather than principles of secular psychology or psychiatry. Our counselors are not trained or licensed as psychotherapists or mental health professionals and should not be expected to follow the methods of such specialists. Biblical counseling will be provided by a counselor under the supervision of GCC’s leadership. Further, we strongly encourage same gender counseling. Discipleship counseling is offered free of charge as a ministry of the church, although part of the weekly homework assignments may require the purchase of materials that correspond to the counseling sessions.
